We’re heading into Summer!  The days may be hazy, but they are not lazy!  Here is the latest:

Work Party, July 5, 2019

July 4 is a wonderful celebration of our Nation’s independence, and many neighbors enjoy Titanic Memorial Park on that day.  Sadly, this means a lot of refuse to clean up!  Please join us:

Meet at the Titanic Memorial

We’ll clean up debris, and we’ll also begin restoration pruning of the azaleas at the North end of the park.  Get more information and sign up on our Events page. 

Tile work has started

The National Park Service has begun work to restore and install the tiles in the play areas.  We excited to see this work begin.  NPS will restore the North Play Area first, followed by the South Play Area.

Friends organization continues to grow

The Friends Steering Committee has been working over the past several months to formalize our organization and pursue our own 501(c)(3) status.  On May 29, 2019, we formally incorporated the Friends of Titanic Memorial Park!

You’ll see changes over the coming months as we transition away from our fiscal sponsorship under SWNA.  We are so appreciative of SWNA for their support in our early days, which allowed us to get a quick start establishing the Friends, and helped us get to where we are today.

We also plan to expand our leadership (now a formal Board of Directors) and engage our Volunteer corps in more meaningful ways as part of this change. Look for more information coming soon!
